Ahh poor kid. You’ve got me by the feels, Sarah. Great story leaves me wanting more. In your own time of course.
I get the feeling that Loki has seen this before with others. At least he is giving Coal a hug.
This hurts so much jdhdjdgd. But at the same time seeing Loki essentially be Coal’s only father figure? Right after breaking him by showing his actual father? It’s beautiful and painful and dear God I love it.
Dawn of a new day, and Coal back in touch with the human. And yet, the bodies just over that ridge are testament to the fact that this new day may not be as rosy as this dawn.
OTOH, holy crap that’s a nicely rendered sunrise, Sarah!
Sorry about the silence, I forgot to put any update. The state of the world is dragging me down as much as anyone and creative pursuits are especially hard. I’ve written the next chapter but it needs some tweaks, and then I need to do thumbs and such. I probably won’t get back into updates till June. It sucks! But sometimes that’s just how it is. I’ll try to at least do a proper update soon.
I am sorry you are having a rough time Sarah!
I hope you and yours are in good health in this scary time.
We will miss your art and storytelling till you resume.
Also when you post an update please tell us if Ingolf is dead? :_(
Coal is baby :,)
(this kinda reminded me that, no, he has not really been given the space to mourn his own death and the whole situation. he really needed that hug <3)
He’s been distracted, but no longer.
That’s a great hug moment, no doubt. I’m glad he’s getting a chance to grieve.
I feel like we’re all grieving a little bit right now, and it’s cathartic to see him go through it.

Thank you! And Loki can’t help his Dad impulses.

Haha, I’m glad! Coal did have his foster father growing up, but Loki is definitely filling a fatherly role that Coal has ignored for a long time.

Thank you! It’s more akin to night, but Iceland means there’s no true darkness in summer, haha.
So painful. So freaking beautiful, but so painful (which is kind of the point). Coal is probably just realizing now what he has lost.
Bingo. Hard times ahead.
So sad…
Don’t worry, there is more sad to come.
Excellent
You know things are bad when being dead is the least of your problems
Too bad none of those problems are easy to solve!
Sarah, it’s been two weeks, where are you?

Poor boy, he’s just a kid and he’s expected to be a man and be the one to win every fight. But he’s just a boy who has had to bear too much
