Sense of horror aside, these are gorgeous panels, the full portraits are wonderfully detailed and the contrast of the warmer mottled dawn with the cooler shadows on the figures really sets off the sense of exhaustion early morning can bring. Guess it’s been a long night
Thank you! It’s actually, like, late evening? But Iceland never gets completely dark at night, which makes the lighting for these scenes hard but also fun.

Now will we get an idea of just how young Coal is? We know he is 15 and a blooded warrior, but how young is he emotionally? And how old was he when his Dad died? Did he see that death?

So interesting to me that Loki apologized to Torvald for taking his shape.
The colors in these panels really glow, which seems appropriate for the transformation (in multiple senses) occurring here.
