But will she be able to make Coal smile? He seems almost genetically incapable of it. I can be accused of being straight faced myself, but you’d think Ragnarok would start right away if Coal cracked a grin.
I’m a little fuzzy on the action in the third panel. Is the boat traveling from light into dark? I thought it was already dark. Or maybe it was, and they are traveling westward, and the sun is coming up faster than they are moving and it just catches up to and passes right over them?
Haha, it’s just dawn. XD It was night, but now it’s early morning. Coal doesn’t sleep, so he’s always up.
I was a little puzzled at first too because you can see that the ship is heading west so it looks more like it’s being enveloped by the night rather than dawn is rising behind it. Not entirely sure what shot would convey that more effectively though.
Yeah. Comics.
God, how do you do it? Every other week you’re linking another equally polished gem of a comic that I never would’ve found on my own but that instantly becomes one of my favorites of all time. I’m blaming you when I expend my life savings on kickstarters.

Haha, yeah. A cloak is something, at least! Also, frankly, any clothes there would be in there wouldn’t fit Hedda.
I STILL think Rollo’s going to get some sort of present. I just know it.
The company of people is present enough for Rollo! He has been in the ground for over ten years.
I just realized today how long it’s been since I read TMK, so i started over from the beginning (the third time I’ve done so). It’s so exciting to see how much your art has improved, and to remember how stunning those icy landscapes were. I also picked up a lot of plot points I had originally missed. Anyway, it was a lot of fun, and I’m so glad you’ve kept up your comic for so long. Looking forward to more soon!
Oh man, thank you so much for reading (thrice!). I can’t believe it’ll be three years in November that I’ve been plodding away at this, but it means a lot that so many readers stick it out with me. And some have stayed since the beginning! I love all you guys. <3
